Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus or Victoria terminus is a popular railway station connecting entire Mumbai with its Life Line. Built in 1888, the station is the grand reminder of the British Raj pre-independence and is still one of the most historical landmarks within the Central Business District of Mumbai.Its value is commemorated by India post with the issue of two stamps. The first one was issued in 1988 at the completion of 100 years with the denomination f Rs.1. The stamp mentions the previous name of the Station – Victoria Terminus, which was changed to Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 1996.The second stamp, was Rs.5 issue of 2009 which depicts the night time photo of the station.
Located in the heart of Mumbai, the CST is also a 'World Heritage Site' declared by UNESCO in 2004.
